Andrea Grath (b. 1987) is a swedish sculptor based in Stockholm. Her work mainly revolves around topics such as existential anxiety, death and comfort. In the exhibition Cloning crafts at Gallery 6 at Kulturhuset she shows her work Holding on - a vast collection of body castings of her aging parents, as a desperate way to save what can be saved when death is lurking around the corner.

With this DIY-kit for cloning (live casting) she invites the viewer to make their own replicas. The kit includes Alginate which is suitable for making temporary molds of the face, hands and other body parts. It is easy to use and cures quickly. You can then cast plaster or other materials into the mold to make a reproduction.
